Rapids Riders Meeting

Rolling sessions:

Have been going well and well attended.  There is one left this Sunday.

 

ACA:

Insurance has been secured.  Chad is working on getting the entire list of instructors so that RR ones can be obtained.

 

Instructor recertification:

Bear Paw will be having an instructor course every other year.

Randy Carlson does one every year.

 

At Canoe U, instructors will be given a packet to record their instruction hours.

 

Canoe U:

Pool sessions are Arlington have been verbally confirmed.

Campsites are confirmed.  (St. Croix Park/Norway Point and Willow River)

****note that we are at Norway Point, not the campsite far away****

Survivor’s party is pending.

Lake days are pending (canoe (solo) and tripping classes may be a different days)

 

Food Committee

There are some people and ideas that are being discussed.

PLEASE let Chad know if you are interested in assisting with this.

 

River Rescue Course taught by Dale

Possibly between grad. weekend and Father’s day weekend, June 11 & 12th at the St. Louis.

 

T-shirts

Steve S. will be doing the art design and ordering.

 

Instructors

Canoe instructors have secured their plans.

Kayak classes need to be set up, instructors will be contacted soon to set up a meeting-location pending.

 

Marketing

Will be implemented soon.

Needs to go in the HUT.

 

First Aid kits

Please forward kits to Mike Jorge to be updated.

 

Vermillion River Access

Hastings park director has met with the city engineer and plans are moving forward.

Possible idea is having RR members volunteer time to improve access-permission is pending.

 

Boat Show: Tonight through Sunday

Go to the Will Call desk MCA to get in.

 

MEP (Minnesota Environmental Partnership) advertisement related to Vermillion River

This Friday Lanny will be talking with them and doing radio spot.

Meetings are continuing.

May 1st: write a letter to your legislative representatives in support of continued financial support.
